Mammoth Mountain is set to open for the season on November 5, a week earlier than expected, thanks to a recent dumping of snow. The mountain will initially be open with two to three lifts operating, access to two or three runs, and a small Unbound Terrain Park. The area is expecting another significant storm later in the week.

This is the second year in a row that Mammoth Mountain has opened early. Last year it opened even earlier – in October, because of early snow.
